Niamh joined our team at D2 Medical Centre in 2019. Her friendly and skilled approach greatly improves how our practice operates. She plays a key role both in-person and over the phone, providing essential support to our clinical staff.
During the challenges of the pandemic, Niamh showed outstanding leadership by guiding the reception team with determination and resilience. Her hard work and dedication were recognized when she was promoted to practice manager in 2023. This achievement highlights her commitment and valuable contributions to our team.
Dr. Lucy McShane embarked upon her medical journey as a graduate entry student at UCD, culminating in the attainment of her degree in 2015. Prior to delving into the realm of medicine, she acquired a primary degree in business from the esteemed Trinity College Dublin. Dr. McShane proceeded to immerse herself in General Practice training through the Dublin/Mid Leinster GP training scheme, graduating in 2021.
Throughout her training, Dr. McShane completed rotations spanning various medical disciplines, including but not limited to Geriatric Medicine, Psychiatry, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Emergency Medicine, and General Medicine. Her steadfast dedication to specialization is evidenced by her acquisition of a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (RCPI). Additionally, she boasts a Certificate in Contraception and has undergone comprehensive LARC training, encompassing the intricate procedures of Implanon insertion/removal and coil insertion/removal. Notably, she has also obtained a Certificate in Dermatology from UCD.

Nurse Anne-Marie Tyrrell inaugurated her tenure at D2 Medical in the month of July 2023, bringing forth an extensive reservoir of experience and expertise. A distinguished alumna of the Mater Hospital, Nurse Tyrrell has dedicated the lion’s share of the preceding 25 years to her vocation at St. Vincent’s Private Hospital, with a predominant focus on the oncology services domain.
In her relentless pursuit of knowledge and professional augmentation, Nurse Tyrrell completed a Higher Diploma in Cancer Care in the year 2017. During this epoch, she rendered significant contributions to both inpatient and daycare oncology units, thereby manifesting her unwavering commitment to delivering comprehensive and compassionate care to patients embroiled in the battle against cancer. In the face of the exigencies posed by the COVID pandemic, Nurse Tyrrell adeptly redirected her focus towards Occupational Health, thereby further diversifying and enriching her professional portfolio.
Extending beyond her clinical undertakings, Nurse Tyrrell has distinguished herself in the academic arena, attaining a Higher Diploma in Business Management. In the nascent stages of her career, she judiciously applied her expertise in the capacity of a business and clinical developer within a medical devices company, thereby showcasing her versatility and proficiency that transcend the conventional confines of clinical practice.
Andrew is the lead practitioner of Raglan Sports Medicine. Andrew in particular looks after the patients of D2 Medical on-site with Dr John J Ryan, Dr Lucy Mc Shane, and Dr Caoimhe Daly. A Certified Athletic Therapist (CAT) with Athletic Rehabilitation Therapy Ireland (ARTI) and Chartered Physiotherapist with the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists (ISCP), he previously worked as a rehabilitation specialist with Dr Conor P. O’Brien, Consultant Neurophysiologist and Physician in Sports and Exercise Medicine, at the Raglan Clinic.
He graduated with honors from a BSc Sports and Exercise Rehabilitation degree in IT Carlow after completing his internship at Texas A&M University in College Station, USA. He has also obtained a second primary degree in Physiotherapy from University College Dublin. He received his MSc in Sports and Exercise Medicine from the University of Glasgow under the tutelage of Prof. Stuart Hillis, a renowned cardiologist and expert in sports medicine. Andrew is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). He is a Titlelist Performance Institute (TPI) certified medical professional and specializes in 3D motion analysis of the golf swing.
He has experience treating and training people from all walks of life including several athletes who competed in the Beijing Olympics in 2008. Previously a keen rugby player, he has remained heavily involved in the sport and has been consulting for other sports teams in Dublin. Andrew is constantly educating himself on the latest research and techniques to pass on the best quality treatment to his patients.
